JPEG doesn't support transparency — see-through areas will be filled white.
About this image converter
Drop in a photo and pick a target format. Converting to JPEG fills any transparent areas with white first, since JPEG has no alpha channel — everything else (PNG, WebP) preserves transparency. For JPEG and WebP output you also get a quality slider, since both are lossy formats.

FAQ
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background?
That happens only when converting to JPEG, which can't store transparency at all. Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep a transparent background.
Which format is smallest?
For photos, WebP is usually the smallest at a given visual quality, followed by JPEG. PNG is best for graphics, logos, and screenshots with flat colors or text. See the format guide for details.
Can I convert and resize at the same time?
This tool only changes format. Use the resizer first (it also has a format option) if you want both in one pass.
