About this image resizer
Drop in a photo, then set a target size either as exact pixels (great for meeting a platform's upload limits) or as a percentage of the original (great for quick scaling down). Keep Lock aspect ratio on and the other dimension updates automatically so nothing looks stretched or squashed. Pick an output format — or leave it on "Keep original" — and download the result; the file never leaves your device.
How to resize an image
- Drop, browse to, or paste an image into the box above.
- Choose Pixels or Percent, then enter your target size.
- Leave aspect ratio locked unless you specifically want to distort the image.
- Pick an output format if you want to change it, then click Download.
FAQ
Will resizing make my photo blurry?
Shrinking an image (downscaling) rarely looks bad. Enlarging it (upscaling) beyond its original resolution can look soft, since the tool has to invent new pixel detail that was never captured — there's a limit to how far you can push it before it's visibly blurry.
What's the difference between resizing and compressing?
Resizing changes the pixel dimensions (how many pixels wide/tall). Compressing keeps the dimensions the same but reduces file size by simplifying the image data. Use both together — the compressor — for the smallest possible file.
Which output format should I pick?
Keep the original unless you have a reason not to. Read our JPEG vs. PNG vs. WebP guide if you're not sure — or use the converter for a dedicated format-swap tool.
